Advance Auto Parts is currently looking for a talented Lead Front End Developer who is passionate about building great responsive web applications with great user experiences for mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms. This ideal candidate will lead the architecture of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, LESS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, and React JS. A leader that collaborates well with UX designers, and have prior experience integrating with back-end systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and standardizing responsive web experiences across mobile and desktop browsers Translate designs into React modules using HTML(5), CSS(3), JQuery, React JS, Sass, LESS, and Bootstrap.
  • Lead discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define functions and features.
  • Apply a solid understanding of UI/UX concepts and principles for mobile and desktop application
  • Contribute to web optimization, performance tools, and load testing
  • Ability to operate in a Scrum-based environment where Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective are held
  • A lead that mentors and develops others, as well as lead the ability to research and implement new technologies.
  • We are looking for candidates that have a passion for technology and prior direct experience in a large scale eCommerce site with multi-channel experience
  • Knowledge of web development and design processes, including knowledge of social media solutions, database-driven web sites, content management systems
  • Knowledge of defining taxonomy driven web site architectures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-project environment, and able to maintain efficiency and positive attitude in the face of challenging and competing deadlines
  • Highly organized, great attention to detail and ‘hands-on’ work style
  • Possesses a working understanding of AJAX design skills – particularly complex user task design
  • An architect/leader in writing clean, reusable, and well-tested front-end code that impacts site performance gains and best-in-class user experience.

Technical Skills and Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing browser-based applications
  • Expertise in HTML(5), CSS(3), JavaScript, jQuery, React JS, Bootstrap, JSON, JSP
  • Possesses a working understanding of AJAX design skills – particularly complex user task design
  • Experience with CSS frameworks such as Sass or LESS
  • Experience with standard JavaScript async patterns (closures, callbacks, error handling, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of UI design patterns and approaches while developing for cross-browser compatibility
  • Knowledge of basic agile development process and working within small agile teams.
  • Ability to address and quickly fix browser compatibility issues
  • Strong portfolio with examples of well-thought designs/frontend code implementations for mobile and desktop applications
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or equivalent)

  • ES6
  • Webpack
  • Babel
  • VSCode editor
  • Block, Element, Modifier methodology (BEM)

Education | Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field, and 3+ years of Application Development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
